Woods Canyon Lake and Woods Canyon Creek Spillway
Scenic rim country lake with excellent birding, water play, hiking and camping. Osprey and bald eagles are frequent summer residents. Lake is stocked and excellent for fishing from boat or shore. Many campsites available at the lake and in the area. Lots of hiking for all levels. Limited ADA access. Busy on summer weekends. Boating concessions.

Directions: From Payson, continue east on highway 260 to the Apache National Forest and well-marked turn-off (north). Follow signs to the lake on FR 300. Camping areas, hikes, and vistas are well-marked. FR300 is pavement to the lake and graded dirt beyond, passable by sedans but high clearance vehicles are recommended.
