Roosevelt Lake – Vineyard Canyon Picnic Area

The drive to Vineyard Canyon is highlighted by spectacular views of the Sierra Ancha Mountains, Four Peaks Wilderness, Roosevelt Lake and the Tonto Basin.

Easy access off paved State Highway to large picnic area (40 sites) with tables and ramadas on south side of Roosevelt Lake. Amenities with trails that give access to the lake.  Mixed mature desert foliage, trees and bushes. Excellent location for wintering waterfowl, egrets, heron. Numerous resident and migrating passerines. Bald eagles and Canadian Geese in winter months.
