Winkelman River Park

This small urban park and campground on the East side of Winkleman and Highway 77. The park contains a day-use area and campground for overnight stays. Riverside trails are found throughout the park. Area has a variety of trees, including cottonwood, hackberry, pine, eucalyptus and palm trees all of which attract many species of birds. The Gila River runs along the eastern and southern side of the park creating an opportunity to see waterfowl, warblers and a variety of sparrows.

Know Before You Go

Luten Arch Foot Bridge is located just a short distance from the park at Griffin Ave. and Quarelli St. The bridge crosses the Gila River and provides good views for egrets, herons, kingfishers, sparrows, waterfowl, and raptors.
