Virgin River Canyon Recreation Area

A picturesque destination located in southwestern Utah crossing into northern Arizona and Nevada. It is part of the larger Dixie National Forest and is situated near the town of Virgin, not far from the more famous Zion National Park. This region is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, with red rock formations, canyons, and the Virgin River running through the area. The area offers a variety of hiking trails suitable for different skill levels. There are campgrounds in and around the area.

Directions: Virgin River Canyon Recreation Area is located along Interstate 15 approximately 20 miles southwest of St. George, Utah and approximately 20 miles northeast of Mesquite, Nevada. The recreation area is at the Cedar Pocket Exit (Mile Post 18).

Operational Hours: Open all year, 24 hours a day

Admission or Fees: Overnight-use fee is $8 per site per night and the day-use fee is $2 per vehicle.
