American Flag Trailhead

This site is a trailhead for the 800-mile Arizona Trail that traverses the state north to south. Located at the north side of the Catalina Mountains the site offers a mix of habitats, blending upland Sonoran Desert with oak-mesquite forests. The best birding is around the parking lot and corrals near the Arizona Trail. The historical American Flag Post Office is located here along with corrals.

Directions: Going East from the town of Oracle on American Ave.,turn right and take Mt. Lemmon Hwy past Oracle State Park to the junction of Webb Road. At the junction, turn right staying on Mt. Lemmon Hwy approximately 3.6 miles to American Flag Ranch Road. Turn right and proceed .3 miles to access trailhead parking.
