Bright Angel Lodge

Designed by architect Mary Jane Colter, the lodge is a complex of cabins around a central lodge building, directly on the edge of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in Grand Canyon National Park.

Look for California Condors roosting on the rocky outcrops just below the back porch of the Bright Angel Lodge. The view from the Gift Shop, just west of the Lodge, sometimes is better, depending on exactly where the birds are sitting.

Bright Angel Trail begins just west of Bright Angel Lodge. Follow path along rim, trail starts by mule corral. Trailhead Elevation: 6,850 feet.
