Cibola Valley Conservation Area
First developed in 2006 by the Bureau of Reclamation and other agencies to create habitat for the “Southwestern” Willow Flycatcher, the Yellow-billed Cuckoo, and other endangered species. The area consists of agricultural fields and undeveloped land planted with native vegetation to restore cottonwood-willow, mesquite, and desert upland habitat types.
It is located within the Cibola Valley between river miles 99-104 within the historic floodplain of the Colorado River and immediately north of the Cibola National Wildlife Refuge.
