Huachuca Mountains – Carr Canyon
A beautiful canyon in the Huachuca Mountains which can be explored from the lower canyon, the seasonal Carr Falls, and a scenic drive to the high country vistas and trails. In the lower canyon is the historic Carr House which operates as an information center on weekends and is open from early spring through late fall. Picnic tables and nature trail are open year round.
Resident and migratory birds include trogon, gray hawks, wild turkeys, and many species of hummingbirds and warblers. The tufted flycatcher has been reported nesting in the higher elevations.
There is a picnic area up the mountain via the scenic drive at Reef Townsite Campground.

Know Before You Go
The scenic drive climbs 2,500 feet and is paved for the first 1.4 miles, then a rugged dirt road for the remaining 6.3 miles. High clearance vehicle is recommended.
