Lake Mohave – Davis Dam
One of the best birding sites in the area is the spillway below Davis Dam. Water fowl, shore birds and riparian birds frequent the area. The dam is on the Colorado River about 70 miles (110 km) downstream from Hoover Dam. It stretches across the border between Arizona and Nevada. The United States Bureau of Reclamation owns and operates the dam, which was completed in 1951. The roadway across the dam is shut down to vehicle traffic. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic are permitted.
