Mammoth Ponds
Four sewage ponds observable from a Soccer field overlook. During winter months, opportunity for waterfowl, egret’s, herons, hawks and blackbirds. This water source in the middle of the desert draws lots of species during the warmer months. Walking the perimeter road around the soccer field will yield, vireos, warblers, phoebes, flycatchers, doves and kingbirds.

Directions: Site is 0.2 miles west of Hwy 77. From Copper Street, travel north on Hwy 77, 1.3 miles. Turn west on Camino Rio. Stay left on the road and then make an immediate sharp right. Go straight on the dirt/gravel road headed toward the communications tower. The road passes behind a building on the right. The road drops down to a soccer field. Follow the road to the right road and park next to the tower. The ponds may be viewed to the North.

There are no unlocked facilities at the site. The “Circle K” store in Mammoth has restrooms, snacks, water and fuel.
