Scottsdale Community College
Located at the center of campus, Two Waters Circle is a lushly planted representation of a riparian zone that draws in many species of birds. The Wildlife Demonstration Gardens continue northward around the NS building, and a breeding population of burrowing owls can be found at the northeast end of campus (parking lot J, accessible access). Please respect the owls’ habitat and do not cross over the rope barrier. Students track the owl populations on campus, and assist with the construction and maintenance of artificial burrows. They also routinely monitor the bird species (122 and counting) and participate in research projects.
The Center for Native and Urban Wildlife maintains the wildlife gardens and owl habitat. During normal business hours you may be able to visit the CNUW nature center that displays living Arizona wildlife.
