Mingus Mountain – Mingus Lake

A gorgeous small mountain lake about 7500 ft. elevation with a marshy runoff on right side. Most of high elevation warblers and more.

Directions: From Sedona/Cottonwood go South on 89a through Jerome to crest of Mingus Mtn.. Turn left and go 2 miles until you see lake on right.

Best time to visit: May, August, September are best.

Know Before You Go

It can be much colder than the Verde valley. Dress warm. 2 mile dirt road is a bit rough and dusty. Regular car is fine, but go slow. You can walk completely around the lake. closed in winter.
