Granville Recreation Area
Located in the southeast corner of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, the Granville Campground acts as a great homebase for birding this remote area of the state. At 6,600 feet above sea level the aspen and oak forests here offer unique habitats–and an escape from the summer heat–that attract vastly different species from the nearby desert landscapes. Bridled titmouse, painted redstarts, acorn woodpeckers, and violet-green swallows are common here.
