This 23,000-acre site contains a canyon with towering cliffs, cottonwood galleries, and patches of mesquite. The riparian area is rich in vegetation and home to numerous raptors and hawks.

Spanning the Gila River and located in the 23,000-acre Gila Box Riparian National Conservation Area (RNCA) where wintering sandhill cranes are sometimes spotted in the nearby farm lands.
Granville Recreation Area
In the southeast corner of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, the Granville Campground acts as a great homebase for birding this remote area of the state.
