Buffalo Park Flagstaff
The park sits at the top of a hill in Flagstaff, overlooking the town and with views of surrounding mountains. It is mostly open grassland habitat, with some forested areas.

Convenient spot to bird right in Flagstaff, with open grass and forested areas. On Northern Arizona University campus.
Elden Spring
A pleasant and convenient spot to bird in town along the southern base of Mount Elden. Many trails traverse the area.
Frances Short Pond
Convenient site right in Flagstaff. Small manmade pond popular with anglers, with emergent vegetation. Attracts the occasional rarity.
I-40 Ponds at Switzer Wash
Wetland with emergent vegetation, with hiking trails in the vicinity, including the Arizona Trail. Good site for blue grosbeak May through September.
Museum of Northern Arizona
An interesting little area of habitat behind the Museum which attracts a good variety of species. Has a small pond and stream.
Picture Canyon
Miles of walking trails traverse a variety of habitat types such as ponderosa pine, oak, grassland, basalt cliffs, and riparian, resulting in a large variety of potential bird species at one site.
Elizabeth “Liz” C. Archuleta County Park (formerly Sawmill Park)
The Rio de Flag flows through this park, providing riparian habitat along with pine forest and scrub. There are picnic tables, educational displays, a playground, and hiking trails.
