This short loop trail goes through ponderosa pine forest adjacent to a large meadow, which attracts mammals to watch as well.

This National Monument protects evidence of recent volcanic eruptions, including a large cinder cone and black lava flows. Habitat is primarily ponderosa pine, with some meadows.

This National Monument contains incredible ancient ruins. Habitat is open grasslands and pinyon-juniper.  It is a sister park to Sunset Crater National Monument.
